Our major project for 2025/26 is gender healthcare: the health issues that face women, men and the trans and non-binary community in York.
Women’s Health
We are looking at health issues that have a particular impact on women, such as reproductive health, managing menopause symptoms and chronic pain. We will also consider the responses women receive when seeking help.
We have produced the report: Women's Health: Stories of women's health experiences in York which is available through our Resource Hub here.
Men’s Health
We want to hear about all aspects of men’s health, and in particular we will examine the rise of mental ill health in men, recently referred to as a ‘silent health crisis’ for men across the UK.
Trans and non-binary health
The aim of this research is to hear about the real-life experiences of trans, non-binary and intersex people accessing healthcare services in York. We have produced three surveys, one for trans, non-binary and intersex people, one for the family and friends of trans, non-binary and intersex people, and a third survey for healthcare professionals.
Your feedback will help Healthwatch York and partners, including healthcare professionals, develop a plan of how to improve health services.
